Welcome to Second Grade! My name is Amy Pohl. I have been teaching 18 years and this is my fifteenth year teaching at Lewis. I have enjoyed teaching both fifth and third grade and this will be my sixth year teaching second grade. I am a graduate of Troy State University with an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education. I did my graduate work at Walden University where I earned a Master’s Degree in Reading and Mathematics.
I have a husband Pat, who operates our family business. We have two children and 5 grandchildren. Our son Neal and his wife Mary have four children whose names are Clare (9), Judah (7), Jane (5), and Shiloh (3) . Our daughter Kayla and her husband Brian have a son Everett who is 16 months old. They are all the light of my life! In my spare time I enjoy playing tennis and gardening.
Our class promise to each other:
We will work together as a team to learn and grow as second grade students. We want to become respectful responsible citizens. In our classroom every child is unique and special in his or her own way!
Mrs. Pohl’s promise to you:
I promise to be here for you every day. I want to help you learn and grow as a student and as a person. I promise to create a safe learning environment in which you can be yourself and let me know if you need anything. I want all of my students to learn and be successful. I will always be respectful to you and teach you to be a responsible second grader.
